K3 Delivers American Sociological Association Headquarters
K3 Construction Group is excited to announce that it has completed the build-out of the American Sociological Association’s new headquarters location at 1430 K Street, NW Washington, DC. The association purchased two floors in the recently constructed building in June of 2007. The project was financed through the issuance of $8,000,000 in District of Columbia variable rate tax exempt revenue bonds. The bonds have a maturity of 30 years and were obtained through the District with a Letter of Credit provided by PNC Bank. “The association’s leadership and its 14,000 members are proud to partner with the District and PNC Bank to keep our national headquarters in the Nation’s Capital,” said Dr. Sally T. Hillsman, Executive Officer of the American Sociological Association (ASA). “With this new permanent home in D.C., ASA will continue to pursue its century-long history of advancing sociology as a scientific discipline and profession serving the public good, representing sociologists working across all sectors to promote the field’s contributions and uses to society.” The elevator lobby features acrylic wall panels trimmed in stainless steel, and a connecting stair with stainless steel rails and walnut paneling. In addition to offices, the space features large conference rooms for association meetings, and a state-of-the-art publication production facility. Jeff Martello, president of K3, said, “We’re proud to add this prestigious association to our list of satisfied clients. What made this negotiated project such a success was the collaborative effort between ASA, OTJ Architects and our project team. This approach enabled this project to be delivered early -- it was a great project from beginning to end.” project was financed through the issuance of $8,000,000 in District of Columbia variable rate tax exempt revenue bonds.
